Practice Manager Vacancy
A rare opportunity for a business professional to lead a 50-strong team in an independent environment, over 3 sites.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the smooth running of a modern purpose built practice.
Experience in a managerial role is essential. The candidate should have strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
They must also have practical IT and facilities management skills. Financial qualifications to AAT level, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll are desirable.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Practice Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: The Board of Directors
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Senior Receptionist, Head Nurse, Senior Admin Nurse, Administrative and cleaning staff and all subordinates.
To be responsible for all aspects of financial administration. To ensure that proper accounting procedures are followed.
Collate all accounting information for the accountant at the end of the financial year. Produce appropriate management accounts and analysis reports on a monthly basis.
Monitor income and expenditure through management accounts and analysis reports. Report any recommendations to the Directors.
Credit control and dealing with problem debtors. Monthly payroll and control of salary structures.
To co-ordinate the production and amendment of the practice manual. Organise rotas of veterinary surgeons and support staff.
Production of the practice update.
Maximise the effective use of computers within the practice.
Implementation of software upgrades and providing technical computer support. Maintenance of the computer database.
Production and implementation of the practice personnel policy with the Directors. Appointment of new staff, in liaison with Senior Line managers and Clinical Directors.
Supervision, performance review and personal development for heads of department. Promote and approve continual professional development for support staff.
Co-ordinate holiday, sickness and cpd records for all employees.
Chair departmental meetings and report any recommendations to the Directors.
Oversee induction and introduction to the practice of new employees, in liaison with Business Development Manager.
Oversee performance reviews as appropriate.
Production and implementation of the practice marketing plan with the Directors.
Production and implementation of the practice Health and Safety policy with the Directors.
To maintain, develop and dispose of practice premises, facilities and other physical resources (vehicles etc), under the supervision and with the agreement of the partnership. Select contractors and monitor their work and cost effectiveness.
